Are you interested in joining our lab?
Opportunities for postdoctoral fellows
Please contact me if you are interested in becoming a postdoc in our lab. There are several avenues of potential funding that we could pursue, including the Smith Fellowship, Ford Foundation, among others.
Opportunities for graduate students
Both departments have slightly different requirements for admissions and degrees, but in the Environment and Science Policy Department or the Biology Department Graduate students in my group are enrolled in either the end your research and my supervision would be the same.
If you think you might like to join my research group as a graduate student, please check out the research we are doing in my lab and read some of our recent papers. To find out more about possibilities for joining our group, send me an email that describes your previous research experiences and the line of research that interests you. Applicants with a strong background should consider applying for a
NSF Graduate Research Fellowship or an SMSC Doctoral Fellowship in Conservation Science. The GMU office of Graduate Fellowships also has many resources for funding.
Opportunities for undergraduate students
I am always delighted to help undergraduates learn more about research. If you are interested in how animals behave, and specifically how they communicate, or in the conservation of threatened and endangered animals, my research group might be a good fit for you. Please email me so that we can discuss potential projects that might work for you. We can also pursue funding for you to conduct research through the GMU OSCAR URSP program or the Biology Department Research Semester.
